Unsanitary and Fraudulent: Feds raid Oak Park pain clinic

This story about an Oak Park pain clinic raided by Feds over fraud charges comes with a side of gross.

According to WXYZ Detroit “…Dr. Gandam Jayakar and his son Sanjit James Jayakar are alleged to have caused Medicare to be billed for thousands in services that were either not medically necessary, never took place, or weren’t done by a licensed medical provider.”

The complaint says James, the office’s administrator, allegedly preformed some of their services despite not being a licensed provider. Disturbingly it claims he gave “non sterile facet injections” for pain relief where “Sanjit wore non sterile gloves, that had a tear on one hand” and a witness saw him “wipe his nose then with the same hand, proceed to pick up the needle and insert it into the patient.”
