The recent re-launch of Healthcare.gov aims to be a one-stop shop for information on the Health Insurance Marketplace. Although, the Marketplace itself won’t be up and running until October 1st when open enrollment begins, the site does contains up to date information on what to expect for individuals or families, as well as small businesses.
Individuals and families can answer a few quick questions and the information most relevant to them will be displayed.
The Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) Marketplace is for businesses of 50 (100 in Hawaii) or less full-time equivalent (FTE) employees. And starting in 2014, businesses with less than 25 FTEs will have to provide coverage through the SHOP Marketplace in order to qualify for the small business health care tax credit.
